A Review of World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft, by Blizzard Entertainment is based on Blizzard’s Warcraft series. World of Warcraft is a MMORPG, which stands for Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. This means that you get to interact, talk, and play with other players. World of Warcraft is currently on it’s 2nd expansion pack with many more to come. The first expansion that was released which allowed players to level up to level 70 is called The Burning Crusade. The second expansion that allows players to level up to level 80 is called The Wrath of the Lich King.

In the World of Warcraft, your goal is to reach level 80(if you have the latest expansion pack). You reach level 80 by questing and going through dungeons. Now, this may sound boring, but this is not all you do. There is much more to the game than just leveling up. Also, there is PvP(Player vs. Player) combat. World of Warcraft has the best PvP in my personal opinion. Players are allowed to fight and kill eachother. They may do it in something called a ‘battleground’ or they may do it in an ‘arena’ or they may do it in the world. Also, World of Warcraft has professions. Professions are a skill that allows you to gather or create something. You can create items such made of leather, which you gather. You can also create items out of metal, which you also gather. There are many more professions such as herbalism, alchemy, inscription, jewelcrafting, any many more.

World of Warcraft has three major zones. 1) Azeroth. 2) The Outland 3) Northerend. You must buy the expansion packs to have access to The Outland and Northerend. Azeroth is for players that are questing and leveling up that are in the level zone of level 1-60. Outland is for players in the level zone of 60-70, and Northerend is for 70-80.

World of Warcraft is much more than a game. For players that are interested in story or background, World of Warcraft has a lot of lore. I was pretty blown away myself. World of Warcraft also has guilds. A guild is a group of people that enjoy playing together. Guilds have a tabard, which is something you can wear that has the guild design on it. Guilds also have a guild bank, which is a storage location where you can donate goods for others to take out.

World of Warcraft also has an economy with an auction house. Players can buy or sell their items at an auction house. Currently there are 10 races. 5 on the Horde and 5 on the Alliance. The Horde races are: Troll, Orc, Blood Elf, Tauren, and Undead. The Alliance races are: Night Elf, Human, Draenei, Gnome, and Dwarf. There are also many classes that you can choose to play: Mage, Priest, Druid, Warrior, Paladin, Shaman, Rogue, Hunter, and Warlock. There is also a hero class that is unlocked once you reach level 55, called Dark Night.

I would give this game a 5/5. This is a very addicting, fun, and time consuming game. I recommend that people of ages 13+ up buy it and enjoy it.
